Secure Mail Intelligence!® Encryption Key Manager
This software implements the industry trusted standard PKI inside the infrastructure of Lotus Domino/Notes. SMI! EKM uses x. 509 v.3 standards in order to encrypt internal mail and documents. SMI! EKM replaces standard Lotus Notes authentication with external PKI providers.
Key functionality:
Stronger security
- improved security inside IBM Lotus Domino infrastructure,
- better, stronger and much more modern algorithms (e.g. AES instead of RC4 or RC2),
- ability to encrypt data up to and including NATO RESTRICTED (NR) category (using PEM HEART software),
- strongest encryption using external hardware (like CompCrypt).
Stronger authentication
- signing-on always with newest, up to date notes ID file,
- signing-on using external PKI,
- enables the use of the one-time tokens inside Lotus Domino / Notes infrastructure.
Trusted (digital) timestamping
- ability to use and verify trusted timestamps according to the RFC 3161 standard.
External PKI inside Domino infrastructure
- using standard x.509 v.3 keys (delivered by a lot of CA's or by a customized PKI) inside Domino (it is able to sign, encrypt and trusted timestamp messages and documents sent not only to external recipients but also to internal recipients).
Advanced ID files management
- improves life cycle of ID file (from creation, change management and recertification up to deleting notes ID file),
- protects standard notes ID file with additional encryption,
- stores notes ID files on central repository on SmartCards or on advanced encrypting devices,
- delivers ID files in real-time to end user computer during each singing-on process.
Easier recovery of encrypted documents and messages
- enables encryption of every mail or document with additional keys, like Security Officer, Server or Archive, according to the policies of security,
- analyzes the content of encrypted messages and documents.
Safe communication via WAN
- strong and safe connection between Domino servers via poor protected public or private networks,
- sends encoded mail and documents via standard protocol Notes Routing and SMTP.
Middleware and API
- it is a middleware software (it is an extension of Lotus Domino and Lotus Notes programs) and does not require rebuilding of existing applications,
- it automatically integrates with the existing databases and adapts easily to the new ones.
Wide Notes and Domino versions support:
- supports Windows, Linux and AIX,
- supports Lotus Domino 6.5.6 or newer; 7.0.2 or newer; 8.0.2 or newer and 8.5.x.
